Lu is a first generation immigrant from China who came to the US on a college scholarship more than two decades ago, after establishing herself as a savvy teenage entrepreneur teaching English in Chinese schools. After graduation and as the Chinese economy grew, she moved to New York City, landed a job on Wall Street and became highly sought-after by many American companies to help them enter and invest in China. She eventually went on to earn her Masters of Science in International Relations at NYU, and was, at the time, the youngest person to present at the United Nations in 2010 (view her presentation here).
She has worked in private equity for more than a decade and raised hundreds of millions of dollars for many businesses including the largest gigafactory in New York State.
Lu is passionate about bespoke wealth planning for families and businesses, with a global, socially impactful outlook on diversified investing. Her career at big Wall Street firms inspired her to establish VANQUOUR as a place of support, training, knowledge exchange, connection, and community for up and coming investment advisors, with a desire to create impact untrammeled by the traditional Wall Street conventions.
Lu lives in Manhattan with her three amazing children.
John Stevenson has worked with some of the most powerful names in the hospitality and finance industries during his 20+ year career, showcasing a fine dining background (Marcel’s) that progressed into high volume luxury (The Pierre Hotel, 583 Park Avenue, Guastavino’s) and then to the forefront of modern taste and comfort, (Soho House, Hoxton Hotels, Sydell Group). John then worked with KKR & Co. to design and develop the foodservice program for their new world headquarters, 30 Hudson Yards – Manhattan, while producing research papers on the global Future of Food.
John is a recipient of New York Crain’s 40 Under 40, and has been written about in the Wall Street Journal (Tavern on the Green), New York Times, (Russ & Daughters) The Guardian, (The Ned Hotel – London) The Japan Times, (Tokyo Marriott Shinagawa) Vanity Fair (583 Park Avenue) and has appeared on New York’s ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC and Martha Stewart Radio. John is the founding partner of Stevenson Capital & Co., and was a member of KKR & Co.’s Business Accelerator and Principal for a Day member of PENCIL.org.
Ying Wang is President of Link Consulting, LLC. which provides high level connections and problem-solving services to corporations and individuals doing business in China. She represents Chinese companies to invest in technology and resources worldwide. She is also Senior Advisor of Enverra Partners (www.enverra.com) and Director of Sinoelix (www.sinoelix.com).
Ying worked in the Chinese government for 16 years, serving as Division Chief for Foreign Liaison and Director for UNICEF projects for training women in development in China. She was a deputy representative on the UNICEF Executive Council from 1989 to 1990. She also was an English translator for top Chinese leaders, including the President and Premier.
From 1992 to 2002, she was Vice President and Senior Advisor of the Cathay China Direct Investment Fund. She has participated in numerous investment, public listing, cultural and educational projects between the US and China.
Ying received a BA from Tsinghua University and a MPA from the Kennedy School of Government of Harvard University.
Prior to joining VANQUOUR, Lingda worked as an external auditor in the PriceWaterHouseCooper’s assets and wealth division; she also worked as a wealth management analyst at Cape Securities. Lingda has a B.A in economics from NYU.
Born and raised in Shanghai, China, Thomas Fu came to the US in 2008 to pursue his studies. After graduating from St. George’s School(ISL) and Fordham University with a degree in Finance, Thomas began his career at Capalino’s (a leading urban consulting and strategy firm based in NYC) venture arm where he helped source deals in both commercial real estate industry and startups that want to penetrate the New York City Market.
Thomas also serves as Partner at Mana Ventures, Longbrook Ventures, and Supernode Ventures; three early stage venture capital funds focused on investing in industry and changing businesses for the long term.
Thomas’ investment focus includes B2B Saas, Fintech, Healthcare and Consumer tech, with notable portfolio companies such as People.AI, Gemini, Monzo Bank, Calm, Unity Software, Braze and Electric. Thomas also serves as the CIO of his family office which invests in venture capital, global real estate and public equity in both China and the US.
